William G. Coté

After earning his bachelor’s degree in mathematics, he spent the next nine years working for standard lines carriers, in various underwriting and supervisory capacities, and as the manager of the marketing department of a local branch of a national retail brokerage, before he found his real niche as a wholesale broker and program underwriter. That was when he joined a major national wholesaler, the local branch office of which was then headed by our late founder, Bill Greene.
To no one’s surprise, Wil joined WH Greene & Associates in 1987, just months after Bill started the new firm. He was Greene’s first “non-family” employee and currently serves as Vice President. He has been instrumental in launching and managing Greene’s programs. Today, these include four umbrella/excess liability programs and a primary GL program for New York contractors.
Wil also has a long history as a member of the board of directors of the Professional Insurance Wholesalers Association of New York State, Inc. He served as PIWA’s president for two years and was the long-time chair of PIWA’s legislative/regulatory committee.
